Abengoa signs framework agreement with the National Autonomous University of Mexico


  • The agreement will promote professional development of students and training of employees.

SEVILLE, Spain, Sept. 4, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Abengoa (MCE: ABG.B/P SM /NASDAQ: ABGB), the company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainability in the energy and environment sectors, has signed a framework agreement with the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM - Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México) that enriches both organizations through training programs and professional development.

In particular, the agreement will provide the opportunity of professional development for students, while employees of the company will benefit from the implementation and completion of training and academic upgrading. Also, we will proceed to the continuing search for areas of opportunity of mutual interest to perform research and development of both talent and training.

The signing ceremony, which was held in the emblematic building of the university rectory, was attended by Juan Manuel Romero Ortega, Innovation and Development Coordinator of the UNAM, and Joaquin Fernandez de Pierola, CEO of Abengoa Mexico.

The UNAM is a Mexican public university with over 340,000 students, world renowned, as well as the country's and Latin America's largest university. By this new linking project, Abengoa reaffirms its commitment to training by encouraging excellence in education in Mexico and consolidates its relations with the country's leading educational institutions.
