MachineShop Collaborates With Arrow Electronics to Power Its New IoT Enablement Offering, "Arrow Intelligent Services"

Market Leading Gateway Vendors Join MachineShop and Arrow in Launch

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Sep 9, 2015) - (CTIA - Super Mobility 2015) - MachineShop, the industry's only 100% API-based Internet of Things (IoT) platform company, announced today that it is collaborating with Arrow Electronics on its new IoT-enablement offering, "Arrow Intelligent Services."

Arrow Intelligent Services provides a framework and set of API-based services that replace or complement proprietary interfaces and vendor-specific software development kits (SDKs). SDKs are programming interfaces that often require embedded software expertise or the investment of developer resources to learn vendor-specific protocols. By exposing these interfaces as standard APIs, Arrow is allowing its ecosystem to interact with IoT components through standard web services and simpler interfaces. Not only can this reduce the complexity and time to build applications, it should also expand the number of developers who can build IoT applications.

"Arrow is excited to embark on this IoT enablement strategy, and we look forward to collaborating with MachineShop on their API-centric approach to solutions development," said Aiden Mitchell, vice president of semiconductor marketing for Arrow.

To help build the new framework, Arrow turned to MachineShop, the company that has been helping Fortune 500 global businesses and solution providers transform their connected applications through purpose-built APIs and an IoT specific API Management platform. MachineShop's services cover a wide range of important application and integration requirements including: data ingestion, normalization, filtering and storage; business rules and event management; alerting and notification services, security and much more.

This unique approach allows developers to create connected and integrated solutions from any combination of devices and data sources, including services that customers build themselves or aggregate from third parties.

"There is no company better positioned to break down the barriers of complexity in the IoT market than Arrow," said MachineShop CEO Michael Campbell. "The marriage of our API-centric platform and their industry leadership is unparalleled in the market today."

Included in the first wave of Arrow suppliers participating in its Intelligent Services launch are NetComm Wireless, Embedded Planet and Lantronix. Each of these gateway vendors joined Arrow and MachineShop in bringing a gateway and device management solution to market. The Intelligent Gateway service takes advantage of new enhancements in MachineShop's Edge product -- allowing even small footprint edge devices to virtualize important IoT data ingestion and device management capabilities.
