Flint Hills Resources Donates Truckload of Bath Tissue to Local Crisis Center and Shelter

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwired - Sep 10, 2015) - Flint Hills Resources has donated a truckload of Quilted Northern® bath tissue to The Bridge Over Troubled Waters (The Bridge), the 8th largest crisis center and shelter in Texas, serving southeast Harris County for the last 37 years. The donation is worth more than $40,000.

The universal necessity arrived yesterday via an 18-wheeler at The Bridge's doorstep in Pasadena, Texas, just a few miles from Flint Hills Resources' Houston facility. The Bridge assists and shelters women, children and men in crisis, serving approximately 20,000 people each year.

Becky Kyles, The Bridge's Associate Director of Development, said, "This donation is greatly appreciated and will help thousands of people. 'Giving back' is a lot more than writing checks; it's becoming a partner, a friend, and pitching in when it matters most. Flint Hills Resources employees lend a helping hand at a number of events that benefit local non-profit organizations that help empower others. The Flint Hills Resources Houston leadership team recently volunteered at The Bridge on the first day of school.
