Mark Cvrkel Joins The Galbreath Group as Senior Bank Consultant


ABINGTON, PA--(Marketwired - Sep 14, 2015) - The Galbreath Group, a leading advisor to financial institutions on Bank Owned Life Insurance "BOLI" and BOLI portfolio management, is pleased to announce that Mark Cvrkel has joined the firm as Senior Bank Consultant.

Mark Cvrkel comes to The Galbreath Group with 35 years of experience in working at financial institutions of varying sizes from banks less than $1B to banks in excess of $100 billion dollars in assets. He has solved problems, created new liquidity sources and implemented new treasury revenue producing products for institutions. His most recent position was Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of an $18 Billion regional bank which operated more than 250 branches in the mid-Atlantic region. Mark's past experience covers a wide range of expertise related to the banking industry, and he effectively draws on these experiences to solve current problems and bring a different perspective. He successfully completed several securitization transactions, implemented a customer hedging program, completed various balance sheet restructurings in addition to managing the risk management process, Stress Testing and the Treasury function. He was instrumental in setting the vision of the finance area in his latest role.

Prior to his Treasurer/CFO position Mark had experience leading the risk management function at a large credit card bank along with roles managing the profitability measurement and risk management function at two other large regional banks. In 2011 he had the opportunity to testify in front of the U.S. Congressional Committee relative to Title VII of Dodd-Frank Act pertaining to derivatives. Recently he had the opportunity to be part of a panel discussion and present at a European Banking Conference in Frankfurt Germany on "Integrating & Achieving Increased Margins through FTP and Risk Management".

Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics with a concentration in accounting from the University of Pittsburgh. He also studied accounting at Saint Francis College in Loretto, PA, and he completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.
