Make-A-Wish(R) Rope for Hope, Presented by Canadian Western Bank, Meets 2015 Fundraising Goal

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - September 16, 2015) - Make-A-Wish^® Canada is pleased to announce that its national signature event, Make-A-Wish^® Rope for Hope, Presented by Canadian Western Bank, has met its 2015 fundraising goal of $1.2 million.

"On behalf of our incredible wish families, we want to thank each and every participant who took the time to fundraise and gather their courage to rappel from great heights at one of our eight events across Canada this year," says Jennifer Klotz-Ritter, president & CEO, Make-A-Wish Canada. "A wish for a child with a life-threatening medical condition isn't simply a 'nice to have.' In conjunction with their medical treatment, a wish plays a very important role in the fight against a child's illness. Money raised during Rope for Hope will go a long way to help grant these magical, life-changing wishes for kids at a time when they need it most."

Rope for Hope is an exhilarating event where individuals raise a minimum of $1,500 for local wish-granting efforts in their city, in exchange for the opportunity to rappel down a city skyscraper. Rappelling events took place across the country from May through to July in Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto, Halifax, London, Calgary and Edmonton.

Congratulations to Our Top Fundraisers!

Make-A-Wish^® Eastern Ontario wish recipient, Mackenzie, raised over $14,000, making her the top individual fundraiser in Canada for 2015.

Make-A-Wish^® would also like to recognize and congratulate Kamil Czuba, the winner of this year's National fundraising contest. Kamil's fundraising efforts have awarded him a trip to a Rope for Hope rappelling event of his choice in 2016.
