TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 15, 2015) - On September 22, 2015, the Metro Toronto Chinese & Southeast Asian Legal Clinic (MTCSALC) will be hosting a Public Forum to discuss what the upcoming Federal Election means for racialized communities members, immigrants and refugees living in Toronto. The Public Forum will take place right after the MTCSALC's Annual General Meeting, which will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the auditorium of University Settlement House, 23 Grange Road, Toronto, Ontario.
Speakers of the Forum will include prominent constitutional lawyer Rocco Galati, City Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam, and Loly Rico, President of the Canadian Council for Refugees.
"The outcome of this federal election will affect the future of our city. It is important for low income people, racialized communities, women, seniors and other marginalized group members to have a chance to talk about the issues that really matter to them," said Avvy Go, Clinic Director, MTCSALC.
Candidates running in ridings with a significant Chinese and Vietnamese population have also been invited to attend this public forum. This event is open to the public.
