National Credit Union Administration Approves Expansion Plans for CMCU to Serve 10 Counties in the Charlotte Region

CHARLOTTE, NC--(Marketwired - Sep 18, 2015) - Charlotte Metro Federal Credit Union (CMCU), a full-service, not-for-profit financial institution based in Charlotte, today announced that the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Board has approved its application to expand its community charter boundaries. As a result, CMCU is now able to serve members in seven counties in North Carolina and three counties in South Carolina.

"Charlotte Metro is a community institution that continues to serve Charlotte-area residents with the valued financial services that empower their success and personal financial growth," said Bob Bruns, President and CEO, CMCU. With our newly broadened charter, we are now able to provide the individualized financial experience we are well-known for delivering to more members throughout the region."

The NCUA Board approval was issued on September 17, 2015, enabling CMCU to expand its community charter to serve a total of 10 counties -- Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, and Union Counties in North Carolina; and York, Lancaster, and Chester Counties in South Carolina -- with a combined population of over 2.3 million.
