SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 21, 2015) - Nimble Storage (NYSE: NMBL), the flash storage solutions company, today announced that it is a recipient of the Global Technology Distribution Council's (GTDC) prestigious "Rising Star" Award, which recognizes technology companies for exceptional regional sales growth through distribution partners over the past year. In 2013, Nimble signed a distribution agreement with Avnet Technology Solutions, a leading global technology distributor, enabling Avnet to sell the Nimble Storage Adaptive Flash platform and SmartStack integrated infrastructure solutions. Nimble Storage received the organization's U.S. Gold Rising Star in the Hardware revenue of $100 - $500 million category.

Winners are selected based on year-over-year sales growth rates within the NPD Group's Distributor Track®, which aggregates actual distributor sell-through data to facilitate insight into technology channel sales and pricing trends. Nimble Storage was among only 12 U.S. winners chosen from hundreds of manufacturers and publishers who rely on distributors to meet the product and service requirements of technology solution providers nationwide.

"We thank the Global Technology Distribution Council for recognizing the efforts and successes of our sales teams and global partner distribution model," said Denis Murphy, vice president of Worldwide Sales, Nimble Storage. "Our sales teams place significant importance on offering a single storage architecture, based on the Adaptive Flash platform, to provide high-levels of performance and capacity without compromise. Our distribution partnerships have enabled us to dramatically expand the reach of our flash storage solution portfolio to more enterprises across the US."

The Nimble Adaptive Flash platform is now the preferred choice for more than 6,200 customers in over 50 countries around the world. In contrast to legacy and flash-only storage architectures and systems that are deployed and managed in disparate silos to support applications based on their unique characteristics and requirements, the Nimble Adaptive Flash platform offers a single storage architecture that dynamically caters to the needs of enterprise-wide workloads across performance, capacity, and data protection -- delivering on the full potential and benefits of storage consolidation.

GTDC members are recognized as the world's most successful technology distributors, driving more than $135 billion USD in product sales around the globe. The organization presented its 10th U.S. Rising Star Awards on Sept. 9 in San Francisco, Calif., at the annual dinner event kicking off the organization's two-day Summit conference the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport.
