VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Sept. 23, 2015) - External Development Summit (XDS), the first and only annual, international games industry event held in Canada, with a primary focus on external development for art, animation, audio, and software engineering - celebrates its third successful year. Held at the Westin Bayshore, September 9 - 11, the international event included record attendance of high-calibre developers & publishers, service providers, middleware providers and country representatives.

A week after XDS 2015 and testimonials such as 'this has been the best XDS yet!' (Alexander Stein, Outsourcing Manager, Tryarch) are pouring in - and it's no surprise with a high-calibre program that included big names like Peter Moore (COO, Electronic Arts), and Dave McCarthy (Head of XBOX Operations).

Peter van Aller Rydmann, General Manager, of Eidos Shanghai states that "The quality of XDS over other larger conferences is that the focus here is on the business of external development - it's not just a sideshow to the main event. The focus adds value." Mirroring this sentiment, Adrien Cho, Vendor and Outsourcing Manager from 343 Industries says that "XDS is an invaluable opportunity to share experiences and best practices in regards to outsourcing. Anyone who is involved with external development should attend and participate."

XDS 2015 included a host of special events such as: the Welcome Reception (presented by Liquid Development), Glass Egg Central Bar (presented by Glass Egg Digital Media), XDS Speed Dating (facilitated by Marissa Roberto), Industry Pub Crawl (presented by Volta and MexicoIT), and the Wrap Party & Awards (presented by Unity) - which increased networking opportunities as well as the fun, community atmosphere that XDS is becoming recognized for. Claas Grimm, Chief Revenue Officer of Red Hot CG says "Everyone in the room is relevant." - a factor which helps ensure prime networking throughout the event in its entirety.

Attendees like Alberto Lopes, CFO from Kokku Games in Brazil are already marking their calendars for next year, saying "XDS 2015 was the kind of event that makes you want to fast-forward a whole year so that you can attend next year's event. I can't give enough praise to the people that put it all together. It was most definitely worth the trip."

Chris Wren, Chair of the XDS Advisory Committee commented "it's going to be hard to top such an amazing year, but my committee is up for the challenge and looking forward to seeing everyone in Vancouver for XDS 2016!"
