SANTA MONICA, CA--(Marketwired - Sep 24, 2015) - This week the Red Bull Air Race World Championship will touch down in the United States for the final two stops of the 2015 season. The seventh and eighth round of the eight-stop series will be held at Texas Motor Speedway on September 26-27 and Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 17-18. The Red Bull Air Race World Championship features 14 of the world's best pilots in a pure motorsport competition that combines speed, precision and skill. Pilots navigate race planes through a low-level aerial track made up of air-filled pylons 80 feet high at speeds of up to 230 mph while enduring forces of up to 10Gs.

The final two races look to be the deciding factor in a championship that has been dominated all year long by two pilots, Paul Bonhomme of Great Britain and Matt Hall of Australia. As the series heads to Fort Worth this week, Hall trails Bonhomme by a paltry 5 points (55 points to 50 points in the current standings). With the next closest pilot out of reach of the championship, the two leading pilots will duke it out in the air in a winner-take-all showdown.

While Bonhomme and Hall are the only two in striking distance of the championship, there's still plenty on the line for the remaining 12 pilots. Austria's Hannes Arch will attempt to fend off Czech Republic's Martin Sonka and Canada's Pete McLeod for third place. American pilot and two-time Red Bull Air Race World Champion Kirby Chambliss will look to give a good showing in front of the crowd in his home state of Texas.

The Red Bull Air Race World Championship's eighth season kicked off in February with an opener in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and has since made stops in Chiba, Japan; Rovinj, Croatia; Budapest, Hungary; Ascot, United Kingdom and Spielberg, Austria.
