Boise Paper Embraces Paper With Purpose(TM) Promise, Partners With the American Red Cross

Boise Paper Announces Partnership to Support the American Red Cross in Providing Life-Saving Services to Local Communities

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Sep 24, 2015) - Boise Paper, a division of Packaging Corporation of America (PCA), is committed to more than making paper. As part of their Paper with Purpose™ promise, Boise Paper funds local schools through Box Tops for Education™, transforms abandoned urban spaces into vibrant parks, and encourages employee volunteerism.

Paul LeBlanc, VP of Boise Paper, sees it this way: "Our colleagues, customers, and suppliers -- everyone we work with -- is really a friend or neighbor. They deserve not only great paper, but a partner willing to invest time and resources toward improving our communities. This is how we make Paper with Purpose."

The newest initiative for Boise Paper is their partnership with the American Red Cross.

Every eight minutes the American Red Cross brings help and hope to someone in need, assisting families impacted by disasters. Beginning September 2015, Boise Paper will include messaging on select paper products to help people understand potential risks and how to prepare for emergencies -- from fires to floods.

Representatives from local Red Cross chapters will also be visiting Boise Paper locations throughout the summer, sharing the important work the Red Cross does locally and identifying opportunities for Boise employees to engage and volunteer.

"The American Red Cross is grateful to Boise Paper for including us as their newest Paper with Purpose partner," said Don Herring, Chief Development Officer for the Red Cross. "Through their generosity and creative approach to engaging customers and employees with information on preparedness, Boise Paper demonstrates a true commitment to our mission to prevent, prepare for and respond to disasters."

"We saw an opportunity that really aligned with our values," says LeBlanc. "We are particularly proud to support the American Red Cross in their mission as they provide services to local communities across the country every day."
