Revolution Lighting Technologies Names Jay Black as Vice President of Development and Communications

STAMFORD, CT--(Marketwired - October 05, 2015) - Revolution Lighting Technologies (NASDAQ: RVLT), a leader in advanced LED lighting technology solutions, today announced that it has hired Jay Black, LEED AP as Vice President of Development and Communications, effective immediately.

Black joins Revolution Lighting after holding the title of Director of Sustainability at SL Green Realty Corp., a publicly held real estate investment trust that acquires, owns, and manages Manhattan office properties. During his time at SL Green, Black was responsible for the development of SL Green’s market leading environmental program, which addressed $43 million in energy efficiency programs from 2010-2015, saving $11 million in annual utility expenses. In addition to the oversight of all sustainable marketing and public relations development, including the establishment of SL Green’s sustainability reporting program, Black addressed research and development, compliance, and project implementation of all environmental initiatives. Under Black’s leadership, Newsweek ranked SL Green among its "2014 America’s Greenest Companies" and was recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a "2015 Energy Star Partner of the Year."

From 2012-2015, he worked closely with RVLT’s NYC market place distributor, Tri State LED, installing 32,000 RVLT linear tubes throughout 35 commercial office buildings, addressing 24/7 lighting, including stairs, garage, lobby and mechanical areas to save $1.4 million annually, achieving a return on investment in less than three years. His track record of establishing a market leading environmental program from the ground up will provide RVLT with the experience and infrastructure needed to continue developing its brand in terms of sales and marketing. Black will be responsible for overseeing internal and external communications, marketing strategies, public relations, and brand awareness.
