Time to Act, Time to Pack: Corbion Supports Harvesters

For the third year in a row, Corbion team helps Harvesters feed the hungry during the holidays

As an international industry leader in food ingredients, volunteering for Harvesters - the Kansas City area's only Feeding America food bank - is a natural partnership.

On Wednesday, Oct. 7, more than 100 Corbion employees will volunteer for the company's annual "Pack It Up for Harvesters" event at Corbion's distribution facility in Grandview, Mo. This year's goal is to pack more than 7,500 boxes to help feed the hungry during the holidays.

"Corbion has been a wonderful local corporate supporter of Harvesters," said Valerie Nicholson-Watson, Harvesters President and CEO. "Three years ago they helped us kick off a campaign to provide side dishes to hungry families over the holidays. They provide money to purchase the food and then volunteer to pack the boxes, showing a passion and dedication to fight hunger and make a difference in our community. We are grateful for their partnership."

"By providing food and necessary household products to pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other organizations, Harvesters is a real lifeline," said Paul Sackett, Vice President, Human Resources, Corbion. "We're glad to have this opportunity to help Harvesters and give back to our community in such a meaningful way."
