Applied DNA Sciences and Security Marketing Resource Announce Collaboration Agreement

Launch of Online Training and Certification Program Slated for January 2016

STONY BROOK, NY--(Marketwired - October 06, 2015) - Applied DNA Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: APDN) (Twitter: @APDN), a provider of DNA-based anti-counterfeiting and anti-theft technology, product genotyping and product authentication solutions, announced its collaboration agreement with Security Marketing Resource ("SMR"), a California-based marketing and online training organization specializing in the security sector.

The agreement paves the way for over 12,000 U.S. police departments to receive training and certification on SigNature® DNA programs including DNA Home Asset Marking and DNA Forensic Sting Kits. Additionally, the agreement will provide a central Internet portal for over 14,000 U.S. based private security firms to receive SigNature DNA Security training for their employees and field technicians. The Customer Relationship Management (CRM) area of the portal, included as part of this agreement, will allow private security firms across the nation to purchase SigNature DNA Security products for their customers directly from APDN.

Initial roll out and availability of the portal is slated for January, 2016 and will immediately reach an initial market of over 500 private security firms and an estimated 500,000 private security customers related to those firms. U.S. police and law enforcement training and certification will also be available during the initial roll out of the portal.

Greg Rankin, CEO of SMR, stated, "We are very excited to partner with Applied DNA Sciences as we introduce, develop and expand DNA-based applications in the security industry. I have been in this industry since 1987, and cannot think of another innovation that has the potential impact of DNA forensics for crime deterrence as well as the apprehension and conviction of criminals. Blending existing security technologies with the proven science of DNA will open up many new opportunities for security organizations and provide a much higher level of safety, security and peace of mind for their customers."

Dr. James Hayward, CEO of Applied DNA Sciences, stated: "This agreement provides the support framework that will allow our DNA programs to be taken up by police departments and municipalities from coast to coast. Now every citizen and corporation in the US will have the infrastructure that empowers DNA Home Asset Marking."
