Broadway Stars Raise Their Voices for a Worthy Cause at Sardi's Restaurant

'Breathless on Broadway' Event Aims to Raise Awareness About Pulmonary Hypertension

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Oct 8, 2015) - For one night, the Broadway stars will be shining brighter than ever as they lend their talents to raise awareness for Pulmonary Hypertension (PH). "Breathless on Broadway" is a star-studded event aimed to raise awareness about a disease that currently has no cure, but can be managed with the proper care and treatments. The event will be held at famed Sardi's Restaurant on Monday, October 19th. Broadway's Zach Rand (Les Miserables & Mary Poppins) and TV & Radio Host Jeffrey Hayzlett will host the event.

"Breathless on Broadway" will feature some of Broadway's brightest talents, such as Aaron Lazar (The Last Ship, A Little Night Music), Benny Elledge (Chicago), Charlie Pollock (Violet, 9 to 5), Ashton Woerz (Pippin, Priscilla Queen of the Desert), Michael Lanning (Bonnie & Clyde & Civil War) and YouTube sensation Josh Colley (Newsies & Les Miserables).

The evening will include sneak peeks of upcoming Broadway shows like Nerds, Trevor, and Napoleon and a performance from the a cappella group sensation, Switch. In order to raise awareness for PH, there will be an auction in which guests will have a chance to win a number of unique prizes -- including dinner at an exclusive NYC restaurant, tickets to a Broadway show, and more. Guests in attendance will be able to take home some memorable items as keepsakes.

"Broadway shows normally go dark on Mondays, but not this time. On October 19 it will be all about raising awareness for an incurable disease like Pulmonary Hypertension and to honor those who live with it and remember those who have died from the disease," said Hayzlett. "I am honored to co-host the evening's festivities and help the Rand family in any way I can so that others affected by the disease have a chance at a better life."

"Breathless on Broadway" will include a red carpet event beginning promptly at 5:30PM, to be followed by dinner and entertainment at 7PM.

"My family and I are honored to be hosting this event to raise awareness for a very personal cause. And while my sister, who suffered from PH, isn't here to witness this, our fight continues to help the many more families affected by Pulmonary Hypertension. I am excited to share co-hosting duties with Jeffrey and have my Broadway colleagues showcase their talents for this cause. This is something I'm very proud of," said Rand.

The event is open to the public, but seating is limited. For additional information, visit: www.breathlessonbroadway.com
