UPDATE - Mass Innovation Nights and Innovation Women Partner With WeBOS, Babson and Silicon Valley Bank to Support Women Entrepreneurs

Event Features New Products from Female Foundered Companies and Organizations Supporting Women Entrepreneurs

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Oct 8, 2015) - The latest Mass Innovation Nights (MIN) will be held at Boston's District Hall, featuring products from women founded companies. The 79th event, Wednesday, October 14, 2015, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m., will be a key event for Boston's Women Entrepreneurs Week (WeBOS). The popular product launch party and networking event draws attendees from the entire region. In the past 6 years, it has launched more than 800 products which have collectively received more than $1 billion in funding. MIN will share District Hall with a new event presented by Innovation Women, the Women Entrepreneurs Evening, an opportunity to introduce women entrepreneurs to supporting organizations.

"We're looking forward to connecting all of Boston's 'innovation women,'" said Bobbie Carlton, the founder of Innovation Nights, and Innovation Women. "Innovation Nights and the Women Entrepreneurs Evening bring together women founders, experts and organizations that support women in business. It also gives us an opportunity to officially introduce Innovation Women, connecting event managers with great female speakers for their events."

"With women-owned businesses in Boston contributing more than $7 billion to the Gross City Product, it's clear that supporting our city's women entrepreneurs isn't just good for women -- it's good for business," Mayor Marty Walsh said. "I'm committed to increasing economic opportunities for Boston's women, and the Women Entrepreneurs Evening will be a huge part of WeBOS Week's success."

"This event and the entire WeBOS initiative is meaningful for not only entrepreneurs, but also the City of Boston. We are excited to be involved and hope that we can continue to support our local entrepreneurial ecosystem," said Amy Choi, Silicon Valley Bank vice president.

"This is the second year we've partnered with Mass Innovation Nights to provide a showcase for women founders," said Susan Duffy, executive director of Babson's Center for Women's Entrepreneurial Leadership. "It's a great opportunity to promote just some of the exciting businesses being founded by women in the region." A Babson team is responsible for the Diana Project study Women Entrepreneurs 2014: Bridging the Gender Gap in Venture Capital about funding for women entrepreneurs and ways venture capitalists can capitalize on the significant gender gap that persists.
