MCLEAN, VA--(Marketwired - Oct 9, 2015) - Carequality, the national public-private collaborative dedicated to developing and implementing a national health IT interoperability framework, is now seeking applications for its Advisory Council. Carequality strives for broad representation from across the entire healthcare continuum, and anyone interested in solving today's interoperability challenges with real-world, implementation solutions is welcome to apply.
"To be effective and find creative solutions, we need input from diverse perspectives," said Dave Cassel, director of Carequality. "Everyone involved in healthcare has a stake in health IT interoperability and should have an opportunity to take a seat at the table."
Past Advisory Council members have included representatives from not only provider organizations, networks, and vendors, but also patient safety organizations, behavioral health organizations, government agencies, standards development organizations, and other healthcare settings such as labs, pharmacies and long term care facilities. In the spirit of transparency and inclusion, Advisory Council members are not required to represent current Carequality member organizations.
The Advisory Council provides input into all aspects of Carequality's work. In the current term, the Advisory Council has played a direct role in developing Carequality's Principles of Trust, defining policies for exchange via the Carequality Interoperability Framework, and establishing Carequality's operational approach. Going forward, the Council will continue to provide input on in-progress work products, and work collaboratively with the Carequality Steering Committee on project prioritization and new use case development.
