Ivoire Collection: The Dream Bridal Shop Opens in Mile End

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 14, 2015) - Located in the heart of Mile End, Ivoire Collection a by-appointment-only bridal boudoir scheduled to open tomorrow, is expected to quickly become one of the most coveted destinations for the new brides from Montreal and the surrounding regions, as far as Ottawa. A shop-within-a-shop inside DressCouture, a leading Montreal boutique already famous for its sought-after dresses and accessories for glamorous events, Ivoire Collection promises a shopping experience like no other: an intimate environment, where brides will discover their dream wedding dress among the most meticulously curated selection of gowns from the finest collections in the world, including Romantique by Claire Pettibone, Nicole Miller and Legends by Romona Keveza.

The buzz surrounding the opening is not only due to the boutique's unmatched selection of magazine-worthy dresses, but to the passion of its founders, Rina Di Battista and Giovanna De Capua, two masters of the bridal trade, who have developed over the years a loyal following thanks to their legendary approach to service and their sincere desire to help brides have a truly unforgettable, joyous wedding.

Rina, the daughter of one of Montreal's finest tailors and of a mother with artisan sewing skills, who made sure her four girls were always the most impeccably dressed at school, had attended numerous weddings as a child. By age ten, she already knew that the wedding industry would be a significant part of her life. Indeed, over the past decade, Rina has had the pleasure to guide countless brides in the discovery and purchase of stunning dresses. As a testament to her loving care, she has had the honor to be invited to many of her brides' weddings and remains in touch with most of them for years thereafter.

"After ten years serving brides, people call me the 'bridal angel'," said Rina with obvious pride. "I have a true and genuine passion for this trade and for the brides I meet. My goal is never to sell them a dress, but to do everything I can to make their special day even more memorable."

Rina's dream of opening her own bridal boutique began to materialize upon her faithful encounter with Giovanna, the owner of DressCouture. "One day, I was driving and my car stopped in front of her boutique," reminisced Rina. "I marveled at the meticulously kept shop and its breathtaking collections of dresses, and I wondered 'why couldn't I open a bridal boutique with the owner of this store, who obviously has fabulous taste?"

Rina entered the shop and instantly found a connection with Giovanna. The two women felt instantly like long time friends. "To Rina's surprise, I told her that if she would ever consider opening a bridal shop, I would open it with her," recalled Giovanna.

Giovanna is a design school graduate and former VP and head of design for various prestigious Canadian fashion brands, who has logged thousands of air miles researching trends all over the world, from New York to Tokyo, passing by Paris, London, Milan, and Los Angeles. "After years of accumulating experience working for other brands, I decided to follow my two passions, fashion and weddings, and to open an eveningwear boutique like no other," recounted Giovanna. "DressCouture was born three years ago and I've had the thrill to dress a who's-who of remarkable successful women, including Caroline Néron, Daniele Henkel, and Tracy Little, to name a few." In addition to sought-after designer labels, DressCouture carries Giovanna's own designs for bridesmaids, mothers-of-the-bride, and all types of special events.

"My dresses have been seen at the Grammys, the Oscars, the Bafta and Actra award galas," pointed Giovanna. "But I'm most proud of the fact that a loyal clientele keeps returning to our shop because they value my opinion and trust that I will do my absolute best to make them look glamorous."

Thanks to the combined talents of its dynamic founders, Ivoire Collection is a place like no other. When the shop-in-a-shop opens in October, sharing 3,000 square feet of retail space with DressCouture, bridal industry insiders expect the service to be in a class of its own. The boudoir will carry the finest exclusive wedding dresses, but it is the human touch of Rina and Giovanna that promises to elevate this concept well above the average. "We will spend a lot of care and time educating the bride, not just selling her a dress," remarked Giovanna. "We want to share tips and ideas with brides on a weekly basis, and work with them as stylist experts, so they can benefit from my 20 years in fashion and from Rina's successful decade in the bridal world."

Ivoire Collection will open its doors at 5777 St. Laurent Blvd., Montreal (corner Bernard). Fashion and lifestyle journalists, and wedding planners are invited to schedule a rendez-vous as of October 15 to enjoy a private visit and a cocktail and discover the Ivoire bridal experience.
