Garrison Brewing Company Creates Exclusive Ale for Popular Restaurant in Halifax

'Yet to Be Named' Ale Debuts at Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel

HALIFAX, NS--(Marketwired - Oct 19, 2015) - The Halifax dining guide is bursting with excitement as a new seasonal ale sets stage to debut on Thursday. Yet to be named, the brew is a collaborative effort between Nova Scotia's popular Garrison Brewing Company and the stylish harbourstone sea grill & pour house located inside the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel.

The citrus rosemary India Pale Ale will be exclusive to the restaurant, joining a wide selection of local beers and an extensive wine list offered to harmonize with its flavourful and locally inspired coastal cuisine.

"I get asked all the time what Harbourstone is all about," said Chef Trevor Simms. "Simply put, it's a restaurant devoted to flavour. Whether it's taking the time to caramelize an ingredient to get the most out of it, or using some of the best local ingredients available, the menu is driven by a team of palates, all sharing their travels and experiences in every dish."

Starting the day with an extensive breakfast buffet and menu filled with modern classics served until 11:30 a.m., and offering all-day dining until 10 p.m., the waterfront hotel restaurant is a popular choice among locals and visitors when determining where to eat in Halifax.

Likewise, the harbourstone lounge is known as a great place to unwind after a busy day and is ideal for gathering with friends over a menu featuring signature drinks, light bites and share plates, all served daily from 11:30 a.m. until midnight.

"The making of this unique ale was inspired by Chef Trevor's approach to food," said Daniel Girard, brewmaster at the long-established Garrison Brewing Co. "We thought that by incorporating orange juice and rosemary to an India Pale Ale the new hybrid concoction would complement the chef's creations."

"When Daniel and I met for the first time and started talking about flavours that inspire us, I realized he was of the same mind -- passionate about his craft and loved to bring interesting flavour combinations," added the chef when describing evolution of the ale. "This 'yet to be named' India Pale Ale features subtle notes of herbs and citrus, balanced in a beer that complements harbourstone's flavour highlights."
