VTA Statement Re: PTB Reconsideration Decision to Deny Additional Accessible Taxis in Vancouver

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Oct. 28, 2015) - The decisions of the Passenger Transportation Board to deny the application for more accessible taxis in the City of Vancouver proves conclusively that the Board is unable to meet the needs of taxi users in the City.

The application was supported by everyone within the City. Disability Alliance BC, the City administration, council, and disability advisory committee, and the VTA were all in favour of more accessible taxis.

It is now crystal clear that the City has to be able to control taxi service within its boundaries.
