Berenstain Bears(R) Go To Washington

TUMWATER, WA--(Marketwired - Oct 29, 2015) - Starting November 1, children will soon be learning important lessons about personal finances from some unusual teachers -- the ever-popular Berenstain Bears®. That's because O Bee Credit Union will be exclusively offering an innovative financial literacy program from the Credit Union Network for Financial Literacy. The Berenstain Bears® Financial Literacy Program provides young members and their families valuable financial education via the trusted and iconic Berenstain Bears. The program's sound money management concept of Save, Share, Spend, Earn is key to its success. "Everyone loves the Berenstain Bears. This emotional connection will be a gateway to real financial education for our younger members. It's a fun way to introduce saving, sharing, and budgeting money for the future," said Lee Wojnar, VP of Marketing at O Bee. The program includes associated lesson plans and activities developed by early childhood education experts. The Berenstain Bears® Financial Literacy Program was developed in response to the growing need for financial education geared toward young children. Age-appropriate activities promote financial literacy and provide credit unions with a means of community outreach. Current components of the program include: Berenstain Bears Visit the Credit Union picture books, a Cub Account, and Berenstain Bears coin banks.
