Experienced Certified Association Executive Joins LeadingAge NJ

Michele Mount Announced as Not-for-Profit’s New Executive Vice President

PRINCETON, N.J., Nov. 02, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mount recently joined the LeadingAge NJ leadership team bringing with her more than 20 years of management and public affairs experience.

Ms. Mount, a Certified Association Executive, has worked with a great number of associations, but was attracted by LeadingAge NJ’s mission of advancing quality aging services to the state’s seniors and future seniors. Says Mount, “It really comes down to feeling good about what you do every day. We are all aging. And, at some point, we are all going to need some kind of senior care. I want to make sure that quality choices are out there for New Jersey’s seniors, my family and even for me some day– whether it be in a not-for-profit nursing home, independent senior housing or a continuing care retirement community.” Among her goals for the organization is to increase member and donor engagement as well as strategically focusing and magnifying LANJ’s fundraising efforts.

From 2009 to 2014, Ms. Mount served as the chief operating officer of the General Federation of Women’s Club in Washington D.C., an international women’s organization dedicated to volunteerism to better the community. As COO, she supervised and maintained relations with members across the globe. Ms. Mount also oversaw fiscal management and budget development, board development, meetings, and fundraising.

Ms. Mount was also Director of Public Affairs for AAA New Jersey where she served as official spokesperson and represented the organization on community nonprofit boards. She also worked on senior driving initiatives, managed national safety programs, was recognized as a national child passenger safety expert and was a frequent contributor to MSNBC.

Ms. Mount received her BA in Social Relations and Communications from Lehigh University, and then earned her CAE from the American Society of Association of Executives, the highest professional credential in the association industry.
