MediaPlatform Releases Videoconferencing Gateway Product

Leading Enterprise Video Platform Introduces SmartBridge

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 3, 2015) - MediaPlatform, Inc. (www.mediaplatform.com), the leading on-demand video and live streaming platform for the enterprise, today announced the release of its new cloud-based videoconferencing gateway, SmartBridge.

SmartBridge functions as a live video stream transcoding engine meant to support a variety of video inputs, and produce a variety of video outputs. This new addition to the MediaPlatform product set provides organizations with the ability to deliver videoconference sessions to audiences of unlimited size.

"As group video systems become ubiquitous inside the global enterprise, we are proud to be the first platform combining the tools for real-time video collaboration, live webcasting and on-demand video content management," said Jim McGovern, MediaPlatform CEO. "With the release of SmartBridge, MediaPlatform continues to meet the demands of the Fortune 1000 by helping organizations further integrate video into their unified communications strategy."

SmartBridge is a SIP videoconferencing gateway that enables the webcasting of videoconferences with MediaPlatform WebCaster; these sessions can then be auto-archived and made available for repeat viewing in MediaPlatform PrimeTime -- a secure and searchable enterprise video portal that serves as a central repository for web conference recordings, video files and archived webcasts.

"We believe SmartBridge's value will come in two major forms for customers. Enterprises will be able to leverage their existing video conferencing units as a convenient video source for webcasts," said Denis Khoo, MediaPlatform CTO. "And secondly, connecting SmartBridge to an MCU will allow organizations to take advantage of the features, functionality, and pre-existing deployment of their video conferencing system for webcasting purposes."

From dedicated room systems with hardware from Polycom or Cisco to software-based technologies such as Vidyo, Lifesize or Blue Jeans, SmartBridge is capable of powering high-quality video presentations on desktop, tablet or smartphone, without significant additions to infrastructure costs.

MediaPlatform will introduce SmartBridge with a live webcast demonstration and discussion on Thursday, November 5th at 2pm ET/11am PT. Registration is now open for this free event at www.mediaplatform.com/smartbridge.
