Aurora Solar Technologies Announces Product Shipment

Shipment and recent customer activity reflects increasing acceptance of metrology and process control for PV manufacturing

NORTH VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Nov. 4, 2015) - Aurora Solar Technologies Inc. ("Aurora") (TSX VENTURE:ACU), a leader in inline measurement and control technology for the photovoltaic manufacturing industry, is pleased to report on recent commercial developments, including the initial shipment of a Decima™ 3T measurement system and associated Veritas™ process visualization software pursuant to the repeat customer order announced 2 June 2015. This shipment follows 100 percent successful acceptance testing of previously delivered Decima and Veritas systems and over a year of successful end-customer experience with Aurora's Decima CD product.

The company is also experiencing a significant increase in the interest of solar cell manufacturers in Aurora's Decima and Veritas products. Specifically, in addition to the orders previously announced in March and June, the company now has received multiple Requests For Quotation (RFQs) from a variety of solar cell manufacturers. Up to 17 Aurora systems are covered by these RFQs and potential extensions to existing customer contracts.

Furthermore, the company recently attended the 2015 PV Taiwan solar energy trade exhibition, held October 14 - 16 in Taipei. During this event, meetings were held with several production equipment companies, including existing channel partners. Discussions in these meetings focused on commercial matters, including potential channel relationships, expansion of existing relationships and joint sales campaigns. Meetings were also held with Asian solar cell manufacturers with capacity expansion projects underway or in development. These meetings resulted in multiple requests for further commercial and technical interactions, which are now underway.

"This repeat-order shipment to an industry leader in Asia marks another ground-breaking milestone for our Decima and Veritas System", said Michael Heaven, Chairman and CEO of Aurora. "Furthermore, with the increasing worldwide demand for renewable energy, solar capacity expansions are gaining momentum. Many of these projects are based on higher efficiency cell technologies that require tighter control of the process. This is driving demand for Aurora's innovative, non-contact measurement and control solutions for the production process."
