Industry Leaders Gather for Lanyon's Inaugural Customer Conference

Leading Brands and Industry Experts Share Best Practices on Transforming Their Meetings, Events and Travel Programs

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwired - Nov 5, 2015) - Lanyon, a global leader in meetings, events and travel software, held its first "Lanyon Live" customer conference in their hometown of Dallas on October 26 - 28. With a speaker lineup that included industry leaders from Cisco, IHG, Uber, Salesforce, GSK as well as others, hundreds of attendees had the opportunity to hear from and connect with some of the most respected and influential companies in the world.

One of the highlights of Lanyon Live was the industry keynote featuring Elizabeth Pinkham, executive vice president, Real Estate, Strategic Events & Executive Briefing Centers for Salesforce. Pinkham leads the planning and execution of Dreamforce -- the largest technology user conference in the world -- which is powered by Lanyon. "Dreamforce had more than 175,000 registrants and 12 million online viewers," said Pinkham, "We couldn't do Dreamforce without Lanyon."

"It's a privilege that the largest software conference in the world relies on Lanyon software," said David Bonnette, CEO of Lanyon. "Lanyon Live provided an opportunity for our customers to share their stories, and for us to show the transformative journey Lanyon and our products have been on over the past 18 months. We were also excited to share with them the next steps in our journey -- and our view of the critical role that software will play in the future of our industry."

At Lanyon Live, the company announced its latest release of the Smart Events Cloud solution. The fall release features several key enhancements that improve the efficiency of planning and executing meetings and events -- and is part of Lanyon's continuing mission to transform the industry and make event and meeting planners' jobs easier.

The release boasts the first fully integrated event registration and hotel booking solution, powered by Lanyon's Smart Events Cloud and Passkey technologies. This new improvement empowers meeting planners to seamlessly manage and maximize their event registration, hotel blocks and booking in one place -- while allowing event attendees to register for an event and book their hotel rooms for the event in an easy, "one-stop shopping" online environment.

The release also includes an enhanced registration and marketing tool that makes it easier to promote events, and increase attendance. Additionally, users are now able to improve attendee engagement through mobile by utilizing one-on-one meeting requests, and displaying the number of unanswered surveys on the home page icon to increase completions. The release also contains a simplified badge builder that makes it easier and faster to design and print badges on-site.

Also featured at Lanyon Live was an industry first -- a panel that brought together the heads of major professional associations representing business travel, meetings and events, including Mike McCormick, Executive Director and COO of the Global Business Travel Association; Paul Van Deventer, President and CEO of Meeting Professionals International; Deborah Sexton, President and CEO of the Professional Convention Management Association; and Mike Dominguez, co-chair of the Meetings Mean Business Coalition. The session focused on key findings throughout the industry, predictions for the future, and how all associations and industry professionals can work better together to demonstrate the economic impact of meetings, events and travel.

Additionally, the breakout sessions at Lanyon Live included panel sessions featuring best practices and thought leadership -- including a panel with Uber, Experient and Salesforce -- discussing the sharing economy, and how the the industry is responding to the new opportunities brought forth by players like Uber and Airbnb.

Sessions from Lanyon Live will be made available on demand in the coming weeks on the company's website.
