GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 7, 2015) - The Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, Marc Mayrand, announced today that Alex Nuttall, the candidate of the Conservative Party of Canada, has been declared elected in the electoral district of Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte (Ontario), following a judicial recount completed on November 6, 2015, by the Honourable Mr. Justice Edwards of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
At the 42nd general election held on October 19, 2015, the difference between the Conservative candidate, Alex Nuttall, and the Liberal candidate, Brian Tamblyn, was 108 votes in favour of Alex Nuttall. Following the judicial recount, the difference between the two candidates is 86 votes.
The following are the results of the recount for all candidates in the electoral district of Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte:
