LAKE FOREST, IL--(Marketwired - Nov 9, 2015) - Sweet Pete's Candy, a specialty sweet and snack shop founded by Pete and Allison Behringer, along with entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis, host of CNBC's reality series, The Profit, today announced that the first Chicagoland Sweet Pete's location is now open for business at 270 Market Square in Lake Forest, IL and will celebrate their grand opening on Thursday, November 12 from 5:30pm-8:30pm. "We can't believe the time has finally come for our Lake Forest location to open, and it's been very surreal to see this space transform into our newest Sweet Pete's location since we announced we would be expanding nationally," said owner, Allison Behringer. "We are looking forward to sharing this experience with all of the candy lovers of Chicago and begin offering our sweet treats and services in this new and exciting market."

The November 12 grand opening celebration is free and open to the public. The event will feature live music, exciting giveaways, games, prizes, candy making tutorials and more. Visitors can satisfy their sweet tooth with items such as gourmet chocolate, ice cream, frozen yogurt, baked goods, an array of candy and snacks and more, and customers will also have the option to create their own bulk custom candy mix finished with a variety of packaging available for special events and gifts. Following in the footsteps of their Jacksonville location, the Sweet Pete's Lake Forest facility will also offer the Chicagoland community candy making classes and space for birthday parties, field trips and other special events in their private event room. The hours of operation at the Lake Forest location are Sunday thru Thursday: 10 am - 9 pm and Friday and Saturday: 10 am - 10 pm.

Lemonis initially partnered with the Sweet Pete's Candy Company based in Jacksonville, Florida on the hit CNBC reality series, The Profit, where Lemonis stepped in to assist Pete and Allison Behringer with the expansion of their business facility and product offering. Pete has a wealth of knowledge in the candy business and has been making treats for over 20 years. Since the episode aired, Sweet Pete's has since relocated to a 23,000-square-foot building in Downtown Jacksonville.
