Technology Product Co-Creator Cogniance Expands in the Nordics With Mobile Pioneer Steen Thygesen

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK--(Marketwired - November 11, 2015) - With a sharp eye on emerging technology markets, Cogniance plans to capitalize on impressive growth trends in the Nordics by adding Steen Thygesen as the Managing Director, Nordics.

Mr. Thygesen is a Mobile Pioneer. He was instrumental in the creation and growth of Symbian, the operating system that shipped inside one billion phones worldwide. Later, while at Microsoft, Steen worked with Cogniance Founder & Chairman Juha Christensen on creating and executing Microsoft's mobile device strategy. After Microsoft, he spent five years at Nokia working on mobile applications and services.

Most recently Steen headed the Specialist People Foundation, a global not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating employment opportunities for people with autism spectrum disorders. From 2010-2014 he was responsible for the international expansion and scaling of the social enterprise "Specialisterne" from Denmark into a global player with presence in more than 14 countries including USA, Canada, Australia, UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Spain and India.
