Ohio High School Teachers Will Lead Technology Integration

COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwired - November 18, 2015) - Today, 16 Ohio educators will meet to kick off a year of learning about technologies for use in their classrooms in the Trailblazer Teachers program, managed by Battelle Education and supported by Ohio's Straight A Fund.

The teachers were selected from a pool of more than 100 applications on the basis of a recommendation from a local school administrator and their use of technology so far. The program is made up of two parts. A four-part training curriculum will provide the educators with the effective strategies and tools for teaching in a modern classroom. The 16 teachers also will collaborate with each other throughout the year to share ideas and practices. In May 2016, each teacher will publish a set of resources for other schools to use.

Additionally, the training focuses on ways to incorporate digital resources into the classroom. For example, teachers can use an online quiz to learn what students know and then personalize teaching to cover each student's needs. One major focus is a method known as blended learning, in which students learn through a combination of in-person and online teaching.
