HP Inc. Adds Titan to Engineered by HP Program

New Accessory With World's Fifth Largest Watch Maker to Deliver Smartwatch That Is Responsive, Not Intrusive

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - Nov 23, 2015) - HP Inc. (NYSE: HPQ) announced today the expansion of its Engineered by HP program, collaborating with the world's fifth largest watchmaker -- Titan -- to infuse technology seamlessly into the way consumers live, providing them with smart accessories that are productive and responsive, but not intrusive.

"Engineered by HP is reinventing the experience consumers have with everyday accessories by making existing objects smarter through innovative materials, design and technology, to keep people connected to the way they live today," said Sridhar Solur, General Manager, Wearables and Smart Platforms at HP Inc.

"As a brand we are known for our design, manufacturing capabilities, innovation and quality. Moreover, our endeavor has been to always provide our consumers with something new. Our entry into the smartwatch market is another step in this direction," said S. Ravi Kant, CEO Watches and Accessories Division, Titan Company Limited. "Engineered by HP and Titan make a formidable duo with each lending the other a new dimension, resulting in smart timepieces designed with today's discerning consumer in mind."

Titan is a joint venture between the Tata Group and the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation. The company is the world's fifth largest wristwatch manufacturer with over 15 million pieces sold annually in 32 countries around the world.

ENGINEERED BY HP
HP developed the hardware modules, software and user interface, and is providing HP cloud services, for all of the brand smartwatches under the Engineered by HP program. HP also designed the app that allows users to configure and connect the watches to the cloud. Compatible with both Android (4.4+) and iOS (8+) devices, HP smart accessories will complement the styling of the world's top brands and offer a versatile range of design and functionality. Titan will be providing the design and manufacturing capability of the watch, which is reflective of the brand's rich heritage.

Users no longer have to decide between tradition and technology. They can still wear a watch on their wrist infused with smart technology for a new era of access and connectivity.

Building upon successful fashion and design relationships with Movado and Michael Bastian, Engineered by HP provides brands custom-crafted innovation, enabling them to create styles that offer a new era of access and connectivity for their customers.

HP will continue to expand its Engineered by HP platform to help brands integrate technology into beautifully designed pieces, and is currently working with additional designers and fashion brands that will be announced over the coming months.
