Freedom Leaf, Inc. Named as Brand Ambassador of NORML

The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws and Freedom Leaf, Inc., Inked a Brand Ambassador Agreement to Seed Future Growth

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Nov 24, 2015) - In a historic alignment of the U.S.'s oldest, largest and most famous non-profit pro-cannabis advocacy group with one of its top supporters from the private sector, NORML, The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws and Freedom Leaf, Inc. (OTC PINK: FRLF), inked a brand management agreement to seed future growth.

  • Company named manager of business partnerships
  • Expanding the NORML Business Network included in effort
  • Greater merchandising revenue expected

The NORML Board of Directors formally named Freedom Leaf, Inc. as its manager of business partnerships, new events and merchandising in a move expected to boost the group's brand awareness and revenue.

"By helping to manage many of the NORML business aspects, Freedom Leaf, Inc. can help our team focus on NORML's real goal: ending cannabis prohibition and being an advocate for the consumer in states that have legalized Cannabis and Hemp," said Allen St. Pierre, Executive Director of NORML.

Freedom Leaf, Inc. Co-Founder Richard Cowan served as National Director of NORML from 1992 to 1995 and ranked as its largest financial supporter of the organization last year, with approximately $200,000 in cash contributions.

"I know from personal experience how difficult it is for an activist organization to raise funds and vet prospective business support, and now to get support from businesses in the emerging marijuana industries, all of which is essential, but a distraction from advocacy," Richard Cowan said. "That is why I joined with Cliff Perry to create Freedom Leaf to support NORML and to encourage others to do the same."

"Freedom Leaf, Inc. is proud to have been chosen to be the Brand Ambassador of NORML," said Cliff Perry, CEO of Freedom Leaf, Inc. "Our vision is to promote and support donations, membership, the NORML Legal Committee (NLC), business networking events, musical festivals, NORML merchandise and educational seminar components."

Under the agreement:

  • Freedom Leaf will solicit companies to join the NORML Business Network and attorneys to join the NORML Legal Committee, NLC.
  • Freedom Leaf will help NORML work with other businesses by vetting offers from companies wanting to engage with or license NORML the normal brand.
  • Freedom Leaf is also authorized to undertake a number of other commercial activities that will bring revenue to NORML with earned agency revenue to Freedom Leaf.

Founded 45 years ago by Keith Stroup, who continues to serve as its house counsel, NORML operates as the oldest, largest and most famous non-profit lobbying organization for marijuana legal reform. NORML has more than 140 chapters and a headquarters in Washington, D.C. NORML volunteers and advocates have been the driving force behind bills to legalize medical cannabis, hemp and recreational marijuana as well as decriminalize possession.
