BSN medical Announces Acquisition of Wright Therapy Products, Inc.

Latest Acquisition to Consolidate BSN's Market-Leading Position in Underserved Lymphedema and Venous Disease Markets

HAMBURG, GERMANY--(Marketwired - Nov 24, 2015) - BSN medical announced today the acquisition of Wright Therapy Products, Inc., a leading manufacturer of compression therapy systems, to become a full solution provider of lymphedema care products and expand its portfolio of solutions used to treat chronic venous insufficiency. This latest acquisition aligns with BSN's recent purchases of FarrowMed and JoViPak to fortify the therapeutic solutions offered to patients while strengthening its wound care and vascular business.

Wright Therapy Products, headquartered in Oakdale, Penn., develops, manufactures and sells pneumatic compression therapy devices for the treatment of lymphedema and chronic venous insufficiency.

"BSN now provides a full spectrum of innovative solutions for the management of lymphedema, as well as a distinguished solution for treating hard-to-heal venous leg ulcers," said Dr. Guido Oelkers, chief executive officer of BSN medical GmbH. "We are confident that with our combined resources we can advance Wright Therapy Products' innovative product pipeline and pneumatic compression expertise to better meet the requirements of healthcare professionals and the continuously growing patient population both in the U.S. and around the world."

As part of the acquisition, BSN obtained Wright Therapy Products' unique Comply Care disease management program, established to partner with patients to help them achieve their therapeutics goals. The company will also benefit from Wright Therapy Products' existing direct sales force in the U.S., as the field teams have built strong relationships with lymphedema therapists, wound care clinicians, vascular and venous care clinics, and Veteran Affairs hospitals. Such relationships allow the seasoned sales team to deliver solutions aligned with clinician and patient goals, ensure long-term customer satisfaction and improve patient outcomes. The acquisition will bolster BSN's market presence, while accelerating its go-to-market capabilities for the entire lymphedema and vascular care portfolio including pneumatic pumps, garments, wraps and wound care solutions.

"Our company has been very focused on and passionate about helping to improve the quality of life for patients suffering from lymphedema or chronic venous insufficiency," said Michael Hinson, president and chief executive officer of Wright Therapy Products. "We've been able to offer solutions that not only provide an optimal clinical outcome for the patient, but also help reduce the overall cost-of-care. We're very proud of what our team has accomplished over the past three decades, and we are excited about the benefits of joining forces with the BSN family."

The acquisition closed Nov. 23, 2015. Wright Therapy Products will become part of BSN's wound care and vascular franchise. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
