Cigar Advisor Releases 2015 CA Report: Top Rated Honduran Cigars

EASTON, PA--(Marketwired - December 07, 2015) - Cigar Advisor, the nation's premiere online cigar magazine, proudly serves cigar enthusiasts with a uniquely down-to-earth perspective on the enjoyment of premium cigars. Newly published is a feature report by Managing Editor John Pullo, titled "2015 CA Report: Top Rated Honduran Cigars." This new report discusses nine cigars made in Honduras, each of which have garnered very high cigar ratings from consumers.

"Honduras rose to cigar-making prominence because Cuban exiles found the country's soils to be ideal for growing tobacco, as some areas are very similar to Cuba's Pinar del Rio region," says John Pullo, Cigar Advisor Managing Editor. He's compiled a list of the nine highest-rated cigars from Honduras for a new 2015 CA Report. "What's important to note," says Pullo, "is that there's a distinction among 'Honduran cigars' -- or for cigars from any country for that matter." That difference lies in the fact some Honduran cigars are rolled with a quantity of Honduran tobacco; others, while still called "Honduran" cigars, are simply manufactured in a factory such as El Paraiso or Raices Cubanas, both located in Honduras.

The CA Report focuses only on cigars that are partly (or in some cases, completely) comprised of Honduran tobacco and manufactured in the country. "I wanted to focus on those highly-rated cigars that exhibit the true flavor of Honduras," says John. He notes that the nation's tobaccos -- mostly Criollo and Corojo -- are known for their crisp, distinctive toastiness. "They're not as spicy as Nicaraguan tobaccos," he says, but lean more towards a nutty flavor and aroma with hints of fruit and natural sweetness. "That's why people enjoy them -- and why they're so highly rated."

Among the cigars in this Cigar Advisor Report are legendary brands like Punch, Camacho and Nat Sherman; Rocky Patel The Edge Corojo makes the list for its spicy character, as does Alec Bradley Prensado. Asylum 13 Corojo, an all-Honduran tobacco cigar, made the list as well: "Asylum 13 Authentic Corojo cigars stepped up the flavor by taking an all-Honduran recipe to big ring extremes," and that means more flavor, according to Pullo.

John has also included a breakdown of the tasting notes for each cigar in the CA Report; to read it and see the top rated Honduran cigars, go to CigarAdvisor.com.
