Independent Research Firm Cites K2 as a Strong Performer in the BPM Platforms for Digital Business Q4 2015 Report

BELLEVUE, WA--(Marketwired - Dec 14, 2015) - K2, an industry leader in business application platforms and solutions, scores highest possible rating in low code development criterion in The Forrester Wave™: BPM Platforms For Digital Business, Q4 2015.

To assess the state of the BPM platforms market, Forrester evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of 12 leading BPM players across criteria grouped in three high-level categories: Current Offering, Strategy and Market Presence. In this evaluation, K2 received the highest scores possible for process data virtualization and low code development and given an overall evaluation as a "strong performer."

"Our customers acknowledge that traditional code-centric paradigms for building IT solutions have changed," says Adriaan Van Wyk, CEO of K2. "To meet the demands of growing a business at the speed of its people, IT has to innovate both in its own ability to deliver quality solutions but also in its ability to empower users to create their own applications. This is showcased in a trend we are seeing in the industry first coined as 'Code Your Own App' to 'Bring Your Own App' to 'Build Your Own App' (BYOA). Whether it's a simple collaborative application leveraging SharePoint or a mission-critical business application integrating line of business systems, it's imperative for IT teams to help its employees adapt accordingly."

As summarized in the report:
"Although K2 is often associated with the Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365 ecosystem, customers now widely use the vendor across different scenarios besides SharePoint workflow and as a replacement for Infopath. K2's BPM solution targets application development teams that need a platform for rapidly building and deploying process-based apps. The BPM environment includes support for building 'smart objects' that allow developers to aggregate data from across multiple systems of record, including Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Salesforce, SAP, and other database and web service applications. Technical and nontechnical roles can also build 'smart forms' on top of these data objects to create rich, consolidated user experiences that present and capture data from multiple systems of record."

"We believe the ratings Forrester has applied to K2 in this research clearly highlight key capabilities that define why more than 2000 customers in more than 84 countries across the globe use K2 for a broad range of business process solutions today," says Dave Marcus, SVP Strategy at K2.
