4G Americas Elects AT&T's Tom Keathley as New Chairman


BELLEVUE, WA--(Marketwired - December 15, 2015) - 4G Americas, the industry trade association and voice of 5G for the Americas, today announced that Tom Keathley, Senior Vice President, Wireless Network Architecture & Design at AT&T, has been elected to serve as the 2016 Chairman of the 4G Americas Board of Governors. The Board has also re-elected Hans Ovesen, Director, Group Function, Government and Industry Relations at Ericsson, to serve as the organization's Treasurer.

Tom Keathley has more than 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and as the Senior Vice President, Wireless Network Architecture & Design at AT&T, he is responsible for the architecture, design and delivery of AT&T's mobility network as well as the wireless device requirements and certification. He has served in a number of leadership roles at AT&T, Cingular, Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems, Cellular One and Southwestern Bell Telephone. Previously at AT&T, Keathley was the Vice President -- Global Network Planning where he managed a multi-billion dollar capital budget utilized for the sustainment, capacity growth and expansion of the wireline and mobility networks.

Hans Ovesen has been with Ericsson for over 25 years and is responsible for the company's work with numerous global industry groups and organizations. Ovesen has been active with the Board of Governors for nine years and his continued efforts has helped to shape the integrity of 4G Americas as a leading industry voice for the Americas region.
