Cambridge Associates Expands UK Pensions Practice With Hire of New Pensions Risk Management Specialist

Benoit Jacquemont, Formerly of Cardano Risk Management, Joins Cambridge Associates as the Global Investment Advisor Expands to Meet the Growing Demand From Pension Schemes for Delegated Fiduciary Management of Their Portfolios

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - Dec 16, 2015) - Cambridge Associates, the global institutional investment advisor, has hired Benoit Jacquemont as Senior Investment Director, effective December 2015.

The appointment comes amid growing demand for fiduciary management, as UK pension schemes grapple with the challenge of meeting their obligations in an increasingly complex, low return environment.

Mr. Jacquemont joins Cambridge Associates from Cardano Risk Management, where he was a senior portfolio manager responsible for the implementation of liability driven investment strategies (LDI) and tactical fixed income overlays for fiduciary mandates.

At Cambridge Associates, Mr. Jacquemont will advise Cambridge's UK and European corporate and public pension scheme clients -- which range in size from £100 million to more than £10 billion in assets -- on their liability driven investments as well as ongoing risk management. He will focus on fiduciary mandates.

"At Cambridge, we are seeing a growing demand for fiduciary management, where pension trustees give us delegated authority to make decisions on a day-to-day basis. As they meet the challenge of managing their portfolios in an increasingly complex, low return environment, trustees are giving us the mandate to move assets around and to hire and fire asset managers -- in order to achieve their risk and return objectives. We are very pleased that Benoit Jacquemont is joining our expanding team. He will further enhance our offering to our UK pension clients," said Alex Koriath, head of Cambridge's UK pensions practice.

Mr. Jacquemont said: "Cambridge Associates has an impressive track record in consistently delivering superior return in alternative asset classes such as hedge funds and private equity. With traditional asset classes starting to show signs of 'QE exhaustion' on a global scale, the place of alternatives in a strategic asset allocation is becoming increasingly important in order to deliver the excess return required by pension plans. I look forward to working with clients to achieve better outcomes on investment strategy and risk management."

Prior to joining Cardano, Mr. Jacquemont, who holds a doctorate in geosciences and thermodynamics from Université Louis-Pasteur in Strasbourg, worked as a fixed income quantitative analyst at Barclays Global Investors focusing on the structuring of LDI solutions for corporate pension plans. He also worked as a product engineer at State Street Global Advisors developing risk management solutions for institutional clients.
