The a68 camera's sleek body design is characterized by a rear 2.7" 460.8k-dot tilting LCD screen, which permits easier viewing from high and low working angles, and a top LCD also provides quick shooting-setting recognition. In-body sensor-shift type image stabilization is also featured, which effectively renders all mounted lenses as being stabilized for sharper handheld shooting in difficult lighting conditions.

In addition to being available as a body only, the a68 can also be paired with the DT 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 SAM II lens in a kit

The integrated SAM (Smooth Autofocus Motor) provides quiet, quick, and precise focusing that suits both stills and video applications, as well as tracking of moving subjects. Additionally, this lens features a refined rear element shade that helps to minimize internal surface reflections and prevent flare and ghosting in order to produce clear, contrast-rich imagery.
