Fogo de Chão Opens New Location in San Francisco, CA

Opening Marks the 29th Fogo de Chão Restaurant Nationwide

DALLAS, Dec. 23, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Fogo de Chão (NASDAQ:FOGO) today announced the opening of its second Northern California restaurant in San Francisco. The new restaurant located at 201 Third Street marks the 29th Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse in the United States, and the 40th restaurant overall for the company.

Nearly two years following the opening its Santana Row location in San Jose, Fogo de Chão is pleased to open a second Bay Area location downtown in the heart of San Francisco’s SoMa District. The new restaurant is a premier dining destination, just steps from the Moscone Convention Center, Financial District and some of the city’s best shopping on Market Street. Guests in San Francisco can expect to enjoy the same elegant and unforgettable Southern Brazilian hospitality experience that is simply Fogo, including the gaucho traditions of churrasco, the art of roasting meats over an open fire, and espeto corrido, or “continuous service.”

“We are thrilled to continue expanding our presence in major U.S. metro markets with the opening of our new San Francisco location,” said Larry Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Fogo de Chão. “Following our success in San Jose, we felt downtown San Francisco was an ideal market to launch our second area restaurant. We look forward to sharing our premium food and high-energy restaurant experience with residents and guests celebrating in this iconic city.”

The newest Fogo de Chão restaurant features a wealth of savory, fire-roasted meats cooked to perfection over an open fire, including house specialties like Picanha (signature sirloin), Filet Mignon, Ribeye, Cordeiro (lamb) and more.  Additionally, Fogo offers a gourmet Market Table & Feijoada Bar with seasonal salads, soup, fresh vegetables, and feijoada (traditional black bean stew with rice, fresh orange and yucca flour). Guests can also choose to enjoy lighter seafood selections or the gourmet Market Table only option. The San Francisco culinary team is proudly led by Head Gaucho Chef Juliano Santos, who first learned the gaucho style of cooking on his family farm in the Brazilian state where Fogo was founded, Rio Grande do Sul.

To further complement the dining experience, the restaurant offers an award-winning wine list, tempting dessert menu, and creative and classic cocktails. Fogo de Chão San Francisco also features Bar Fogo, a more casual way to experience the restaurant’s distinctive menu offerings through smaller, shareable plates.

The new location offers private and semi-private dining, an outdoor patio, and has a number of tech capabilities including Smart TVs in the private dining spaces, and USB connectivity, making it ideal for a business meeting, working lunch, and more.
