AMERICAN SYSTEMS Awarded $34M Task Order With GSA

Work to Include Helping Agencies Transition From Expiring Network Contract Vehicles

CHANTILLY, VA--(Marketwired - Feb 1, 2016) - AMERICAN SYSTEMS today announced it was awarded a task order by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Acquisition Service Office of Integrated Technology Services to provide transition coordination support services under the GSA Connections II contract. The single-award task order is valued at $34.3 million over a period of five years.

To prepare for the transition of federal agencies from multiple legacy network and telecommunication contracts, including Networx, WITS-3, and the Regional Local Service Agreements, GSA has created a Transition Coordination Center to enable a seamless and efficient transition to the NS2020 Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) contract.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS will provide the newly created GSA Transition Coordination Center (TCC) with policy and strategy development, agency outreach and transition planning, inventory validation, acquisition planning, project management, training, tracking, reporting, and Help Desk support. By analyzing transitions across agencies, the TCC will be able to identify common issues and problems and take a proactive role in resolving them.

The work will take place at a time of transition for many agencies as they make major investments in mobile and wireless solutions. According to GSA, use of their wireless contract vehicles skyrocketed 500 percent from FY14 to FY15.
