Leading Advocates for Research and Treatment of Bipolar Disorder Talk on MI Healthy Mind

Wally Prechter, Dr. John Greden and Bryan Timlin Are Guests on Sunday, February 7


DETROIT, MI--(Marketwired - Feb 1, 2016) - Almost six million Americans have bipolar disorder, a serious form of depression that too often leads to suicide. On February 7, 2016, Waltraud "Wally" Prechter, founder of the Heinz C. Prechter Bipolar Research Fund, and Dr. John Greden, executive director of the University of Michigan Comprehensive Depression Center (UMDC), will talk about leading advancements in bipolar research and treatment on MI Healthy Mind on TV 20 Detroit. Every Sunday at noon, this 30-minute program talks openly about matters related to mental health and wellness.

In addition, businessman Bryan Timlin of Birmingham, Mich., will talk about his own journey with bipolar disorder, including the research he is participating in through the Prechter Bipolar Research Fund at UMDC. One of the studies includes a smart phone application that helps monitor people who have bipolar disorder and alerts them and their caregivers when help is needed.
