Clusterpoint Offers ACID-Compliant, Document-Oriented Database-as-a-Service Through CenturyLink's Cloud Marketplace

Clusterpoint 4.0 Integration Gives CenturyLink Customers Access to an Instantly Scalable Database Supporting JSON and XML Document Models for Ease of Use

RIGA, LATVIA--(Marketwired - Feb 2, 2016) - Clusterpoint, a database vendor providing Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) for enterprises and application developers, today announced its certification under the CenturyLink Cloud Marketplace Provider Program. This integration allows customers of the CenturyLink Cloud platform to launch the Clusterpoint 4.0 Computing Engine directly from the CenturyLink Cloud Knowledge Base.

Clusterpoint 4.0 is an ACID-compliant, document-oriented database built for cloud computing. It supports data modeling that standard SQL does not, such as modeling of class hierarchies and composition relationships through JSON or XML document models. In addition, the Clusterpoint database allows CenturyLink Cloud customers to accelerate their business with:

  • Support for SQL and NoSQL in a single API: Clusterpoint's JS/SQL query language allows computational workloads to be run right next to the data in the database.
  • OLTP: Enterprises can use Clusterpoint as a business intelligence platform and a fully transactional OLTP database in one solution.
  • Advanced indexing: Clusterpoint techniques are optimized for in-memory and on-SSD indices, allowing faster access and therefore faster, more relevant answers to queries.
  • Real-time analytics: Clusterpoint has the ability to execute arbitrary JavaScript code at any step during query processing, allowing enterprises to build powerful and extensible analytical applications that can lead to ultra-fast query processing, which can rival Hadoop in terms of analytical performance.
  • Built in full-text search: Clusterpoint's powerful text-based search displays the most relevant information from your database in milliseconds.
  • Instant scalability: Clusterpoint's distributed architecture allows users to scale horizontally on commodity hardware and parallelize processing power without compromising on ACID compliance.

The CenturyLink Cloud Marketplace Provider Program allows participating technology companies, like Clusterpoint, to integrate with the CenturyLink Cloud platform. These additional business-ready solutions are available to CenturyLink's cloud, hosting and network customers.

"With our newly released Clusterpoint 4.0 Computing Engine, we want to reduce complexity and costs of existing IT infrastructure and enable real-time processing of data on a massive scale," said Zigmars Rasscevskis, CEO, Clusterpoint. "We want our enterprise users and developers to import their raw data and then leverage the power of our document-oriented database to transform their data into something that provides business benefits, exactly when and how they want it."

"When architecting for applications at scale, many of our customers find that document-oriented databases enable a level of complexity that traditional relational databases can't match," said David Shacochis, vice president of cloud platform at CenturyLink. "We're excited about the capabilities Clusterpoint can offer through the CenturyLink Cloud Marketplace, which makes it easy for our customers to try emerging technologies in the data management space."

About Clusterpoint 4.0 Computing Engine:

Clusterpoint 4.0 demonstrates an evolution in database software. Clusterpoint 4.0 combines an instantly scalable document-oriented database with a computing model, which allows for powerful transformation of the data. Clusterpoint 4 was designed as a complete relational database replacement using a new data manipulation and querying language JS/SQL. Its purpose is to perform data retrieval and data transformation using JavaScript embedded in a familiar SQL structure. This truly makes Clusterpoint a computing engine that can not only store data, but process data and run arbitrary computations.

About Clusterpoint:
