International Datacasting Selected by Radio Amanecer for Audio Network Refresh

OTTAWA, ON--(Marketwired - February 02, 2016) - International Datacasting Corporation (TSX VENTURE: IDC), a technology provider for the world's premiere broadcasters, has been selected by Radio Amanecer, a leading radio provider of Dominican Republic, to refresh its radio distribution network.

The STAR Pro Audio™ solution has been selected to replace IDC's ABR receivers after decades of delighting listeners. IDC's proven audio solutions range from high-quality linear receivers to advanced receivers, which allow operators to improve audio quality, increase advertising revenues and reduce costs.

"The ease of use and quality of IDC's industry-leading STAR Pro Audio™ solution is outstanding, which were key factors for our decision," said Miqueas Fortunato, Managing Director of Radio Amanecer. "In addition, the solution enables the most cost-effective distribution of radio thanks to the smallest use of satellite bandwidth in the market."

The solution included IDC's P561 audio encoder and the STAR Pro Audio™ satellite receiver. The decoders support the latest High-Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding (AAC HE), providing superior audio quality and reduced bandwidth requirements, as well as MPEG Layer 2 for compatibility with existing systems. The decoder furthermore features the highly praised Very Low Symbol Rate (VLSR) functionality enabling tuning to satellite feeds as low as 100 kS/s.

"The STAR Pro Audio™ solution has emerged as the leading solution for cost-effective audio network upgrades," said Steeve Huin, Co-Chief Executive Officer of IDC. "The STAR Pro Audio™ platform is particularly ideal for rapid deployment, while enabling operating costs savings and improving quality of audio to the listeners."
