Comverge and Honeywell Team Up to Provide Electric Utilities Four New Thermostat Options for Bring Your Own Device Demand Management Programs

Combined Offering Gives Utilities Opportunity to Lower Cost of Demand Management Programs and Drive Increased Customer Engagement


NORCROSS, GA--(Marketwired - February 02, 2016) - Comverge, Inc., the leading provider of cloud-based demand response and energy efficiency solutions for electric utilities announced today that they are working with Honeywell to deliver a solution that provides utilities four new thermostat options for bring-your-own-device (BYOD) demand response and energy efficiency programs. Comverge is integrating its IntelliCONNECT software with Honeywell's Wi-Fi smart thermostats to give electric utilities the ability to control and communicate with Honeywell thermostats within its service territory.

Utilities deploying BYOD programs can now use Comverge IntelliCONNECT to communicate with consumer-purchased Honeywell Wi-Fi connected thermostats, including the Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat, Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat with Voice Control, Wi-Fi 7-Day Programmable Touchscreen Thermostat, and the Wi-Fi 7-Day Programmable Thermostat. IntelliCONNECT enables precise forecasting of available load for control events from these Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostats, taking into account different device capabilities, program restrictions, and equipment behavior.

Using telemetry data from the Honeywell thermostat and meter data, IntelliCONNECT can also enable the utility to deliver energy saving tips that can provide substantial financial benefits to their customers. This enables the utility to further engage the customer by providing incremental value-added services to consumers who purchased a Honeywell Wi-Fi thermostat.
