The Polynesian All-American Bowl Touches Down at SpringHill Suites San Diego Oceanside/Downtown

Athletes Returned to the Oceanside, California Hotel for the Second Year in a Row

OCEANSIDE, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 4, 2016) - They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, but in the hotel business, it's returning customers that pay the biggest compliment possible. So when the football players of the Polynesian All-American Bowl returned to the SpringHill Suites San Diego Oceanside/Downtown this month for the second year in a row, it was a testament to the hotel's warm welcome and attractive accommodations.

As one of Oceanside, California's most anticipated events, the Polynesian All-American Bowl brings together more than 90 athletes from the Polynesian community to play football. This year, the teams were coached by Pisa Tinoisamoa (who has played with the St. Louis Rams and Chicago Bears) and Reno Mahe (who has played with the Philadelphia Eagles).

But the football is only the beginning. The athletes arrived at this hotel in Oceanside, California on January 6 to kick off a week of dynamic events. The hotel hosted meals, cookouts and team meetings for the players within its 2,235 sq. ft. of flexible indoor event space and 4,000 sq. ft. of outdoor terrace space.

On January 7, Oceanside Mayor Jim Wood visited the teams at the hotel to welcome them, as well as to thank the hotel staff for their efforts. The following night saw a performance by The Katinas at the Polynite Concert, while Da Braddahs also headlined a comedy show for the football teams.

When the athletes weren't on the field or attending one of the many San Diego-area events held in their honor, they were able to enjoy the hotel's unique amenities. The fitness center and heated rooftop pool provide attractive ways for guests and athletes alike to stay on their A-game, while free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel means visitors can stay connected anywhere, anytime.

The property's range of outdoor social spaces include a second-floor terrace perfect for catching the sunset, as well as a fire pit and "living wall" (a vertical landscaped space) on the ground floor, which is a distinctive feature among hotels near San Diego, California.

The Polynesian All-American Bowl serves as a premier event for the AIGA Foundation, an 18-year-old, faith-based, nonprofit organization benefitting the Polynesian community. Its affiliation with the SpringHill Suites not only speaks to the hotel's convenience and amenities but also to its commitment to helping the local community. And that mutually beneficial relationship is something that positively impacts hundreds of people's lives.
