SUNNYVALE, CA -- February 08, 2016 -- Infinera, provider of Intelligent Transport Networks, announced the appointment of Roger Baker, Diana Gowen and Henry Sienkiewicz to its newly created Government Advisory Board.

The Infinera Government Advisory Board was created to add expert executive perspective on the specific needs of the government sector to enable Infinera to accelerate and enhance its growing success with the United States (U.S.) government. These three key government sector telecom leaders have joined the advisory board to support Infinera's future growth in this dynamic and strategic sector.

Roger Baker served as assistant secretary and CIO for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from May 2009 to March 2013, and as the CIO of the U.S. Department of Commerce from 1998 to 2001. He was most recently the Chief Strategy Officer for Agilex Technologies, and has held executive positions at several large government integrators, including roles as executive vice president at CACI International and as the vice president of IT Strategy & CIO at General Dynamics.

Diana Gowen served as senior vice president and general manager for CenturyLink Government Services, Inc. where she led its federal government business. Ms. Gowen also served as senior vice president and general manager for Qwest Government Services, Inc. before its acquisition by CenturyLink in 2011. Prior to joining Qwest, Ms. Gowen served as vice president of MCI Government Markets, and was president of government solutions for Corvis and Broadwing Communications. In the course of Ms. Gowen's career, she has been recognized by Government Computer News as Industry Executive of the Year, and was twice named to the prestigious "Federal 100" by Federal Computer Week. Ms. Gowen currently serves as a consultant and senior advisor.

Henry Sienkiewicz is currently a strategic advisor and author. Mr. Sienkiewicz was previously a member of the Senior Executive Service assigned to the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency from May 2008 until the end of June 2013, where he served in multiple capacities. Most notably, Mr. Sienkiewicz served as the agency's chief information officer for two years and as the designated approving authority for three years. In his role as Computing Service's technical director, Mr. Sienkiewicz introduced the cloud computing model into the U.S. Defense Department. In 2011, Mr. Sienkiewicz was named one of the Top 50 Government CIOs by Information Week. In 2013, Mr. Sienkiewicz was selected as one of Computerworld's Premier 100 Technology Leaders.
