CSCMP San Francisco Roundtable Donates $1000 to 1000 Hearts for 1000 Minds

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 18, 2016) -  The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) San Francisco Roundtable is pleased to announce the donation of $1000 in proceeds from members and sponsors attending its monthly event programs to '1000 Hearts for 1000 Minds', a K-10 educational tutor and mentor program that is part of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group Foundation.

The 1000 Hearts for 1000 Minds program is a joint initiative of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group Foundation and the Office of San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo that endeavors to narrow the achievement gap in Silicon Valley by building partnerships between leading education nonprofits and our most innovative companies in the region. Through these partnerships, 1000 Hearts facilitates volunteerism and community engagement, leveraging the vast creative energies of our workforce to support our students struggling most in the core areas of literacy, mathematics, and science. The program strives to recruit 1000 caring professionals every school year to volunteer as tutors and mentors to 1000 underserved K-10 students.

Carl Guardino, President of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group Foundation stated, "We are so grateful to the CSCMP San Francisco Roundtable members for this generous donation. They are a great organization who shares our vision and commitment towards educating the workforce of tomorrow by preparing Bay Area students for success."

CSCMP has been the leading worldwide professional association dedicated to education, research, and the advancement of the supply chain management profession since 1963.
