MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Feb. 23, 2016) - The Quebec Chapter of FEI Canada, an all-industry professional association for senior financial executives, is proud to announce the names of the nine financial executives shortlisted for the 2016 Aces of Finance competition ( The names of the winners of these prestigious awards will be revealed at a gala evening on May 11 in Montreal.

Presided over this year by honorary chairman Mr. Christian Dubé, FCPA, FCA, Executive Vice-President, Quebec, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, the competition was open to all chief financial officers, vice-presidents of finance and senior financial executives across Quebec. This prestigious competition aims to recognize the professional achievements and community engagement of outstanding financial executives. It also underlines the vital role they play within their organization and their strategic contribution to its success.

From among all the candidates, the organizing committee selected nine finalists working in various sectors:

"Financial executive of a large corporation" category

In the final stage, three winners will be selected by an independent jury, following an interview with each candidate.

2016 Homage Award

The Quebec Chapter of FEI Canada is proud to present its annual Homage Award to a financial executive who has had an illustrious career. The 2016 Aces of Finance Homage Award will be presented to Mr. L. G. Serge Gadbois, FCPA, FCA, MBA, former Senior Vice-President, Finance and Treasurer at Metro Inc., and now a Corporate Director. Mr. Gadbois will be honoured for his achievements spanning over four decades and the expertise he has provided to many leading companies. He retired in 2006 following a 20-year career with food retail company Metro Inc. Since then, he has served on many boards of directors and audit committees for a variety of organizations, including Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc., Cogeco Communications Inc., St-Hubert Group Inc., Supremex Inc. and Mecachrome Inc.
