UC Irvine Extension Real Estate Practice Course Now Available

Curriculum Explores Elements of Sales and Brokerage Practices Used in Everyday Workplace

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwired - Feb 29, 2016) - The University of California, Irvine Extension has announced the new Real Estate Practice course. Providing an in-depth analysis of day-to-day real estate sales and brokerage practices, the curriculum emphasizes the selling process, and how to handle a real estate transaction from the listing to the closing of escrow. Topics such as securing and qualifying listings and prospects, advertising, financing and closing the sale, and expediting the escrow will also be included in the course. Developed in collaboration with professionals in the real estate industry, the course is offered online starting March 28. Registration is now open.

"For those pursuing a career in real estate, this course provides a thorough and complete overview of what a real estate agent does every day while on the job," said Stephane Muller, director of business programs for UCI Extension. "Taught by an accomplished industry professional, course participants will also receive first-hand experience on owning and operating a real estate business."

Course instructor Joel Carlson is a broker/owner of MJC Realty in Newport Beach, and is a designated instructor from the National Association of Realtors. As an author and Master Instructor for the California Association of Realtors, Carlson has taught an extensive list of real estate courses. The Real Estate Practice course is part of the Real Estate Licensure Program at UCI Extension. The program as a whole satisfies the educational requirement (135 hours of education) necessary to sit for the real estate license exam. The program is ideal for anyone who is interested in a curriculum that meets the requirements outlined by the CalBRE. Courses offered within the Licensure Program, like Real Estate Practice and others, may be taken independently without enrolling in the full certificate program.

Registration for the course is now available. To learn more about the complete program or to register, visit Real Estate Practice course or call (949) 824-4661.
