Szygenda is a private investor, consultant and advisor to corporations, governments and universities worldwide, with more than 45 years of information technology leadership experience. In addition to holding key positions at GM from 1996 to 2009, Szygenda served as vice president and CIO for Bell Atlantic Corporation where he was charged with re-engineering traditional telephone business processes into future information services. He also served in multiple capacities with Texas Instruments Inc., including vice president, CIO and general manager of the organization's Enterprise Systems Business Unit.

In recognition of his contributions in driving the Information Age, Szygenda is the recipient of prestigious awards such as Industry Week's 2001 Technology Leader of the Year, InformationWeek's 2002 CIO of the Year, and CIO Magazine's 20/20 Vision Award in 2002. He is presently chairman and CEO of RJS Solutions, LLC, where he advises and consults with business corporate officers, government officials, CIOs and information technology companies on leadership, business process design, information systems evaluation, design and implementation. He is a member of the investment advisory board of Lead Edge Capital and iRise Corporation. Szygenda is also an adjunct faculty member and senior research fellow at the American University Kogod's School of Business in Washington D.C. He has received an honorary doctorate in engineering from the University of Missouri, and an honorary professional degree from the Missouri School of Science and Technology.
