Insight Genetics Adds Two and Promotes Six

Molecular Diagnostics Company Builds Expertise and Depth in Research, Application and Commercial Development of Molecular Diagnostics to Improve Cancer Care

NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwired - Mar 1, 2016) - Insight Genetics today announced that it has added two new team members and promoted six team members:

  • Meredith Noetzel, PhD is Quality and Regulatory Affairs Scientist I;
  • Rayne Leonard is Research Associate, Genomics;
  • Rachel Skelton, PhD assumed a new role as Business Development Manager;
  • Kasey Lawrence is now Application Scientist I;
  • Tyler Nielsen, M.S., assumed a new role as Senior Research Scientist;
  • Frank McMahon was promoted to Research Associate III;
  • Ryan Vincent was promoted to Research Associate III; and
  • Regina Bolton was promoted to Administrative Assistant I.

Since its founding in 2007, Insight Genetics has been dedicated to enabling precision medicine in cancer care. The company collaborates with researchers, clinicians, and drug developers to develop molecular diagnostics that aid physicians in precisely typing and effectively treating patients' cancers.

As Quality and Regulatory Affairs Scientist I, Noetzel will lead Insight Genetics' quality management systems in conformance with national and international quality standards ISO 9001:2015 and support CLIA and CAP certification of the company's molecular diagnostics laboratory, Insight Molecular Labs. Prior to joining Insight Genetics, Dr. Noetzel was Research Instructor in the Department of Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University, where she also served as a Post-doctoral Research fellow. She has a PhD in Neuroscience and B.A. in Biology and Chemistry, with distinction, from University of Minnesota.

As a Research Associate, Leonard will apply her biology and biochemistry training and experience to advance projects within Insight Genetics' Genomics Group, including Next Generation Sequencing services for pharmaceutical clientele. Leonard has a M.S. in Biology with concentration in Genetics from Middle Tennessee State, where she earned a National Science Foundation Fellowship, and earned her B.S. in Biochemistry as a Buchanan Fellow.

As Business Development Manager, Skelton is responsible for advancing the commercialization of Insight Genetics' portfolio of lung and breast cancer products and services. In this capacity she will also serve as Product Manager for the company's lung cancer program. Prior to her new appointment, Dr. Skelton was Insight Genetics' Regulatory Scientist, leading the company's implementation of quality management systems and ISO 9001:2008 certification. She joined the company in 2012 after receiving her PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from Vanderbilt University.

Application Scientist Lawrence is leading Insight Genetics' Genomics Group, providing NGS services for academic research collaborators and pharmaceutical industry clientele. He is also lead developer of the company's Insight TNBCtype™ product program. Since joining Insight Genetics in 2012 as Research Associate III, Lawrence has contributed to the company's growth through his successive appointments. He holds a B.S. in Biology from Tennessee Technological University.

Senior Research Scientist Nielsen will serve as technical lead and manage Insight Genetics' R&D projects and client services across multiple platforms. Since joining the company in 2013, Nielsen has led numerous projects, including contract services with the National Cancer Institute, and mentored research associates. He received his M.A. in Biomedical Science from Des Moines University.

In advancing to Research Associate III, Frank McMahon and Ryan Vincent will extend their R&D, subject matter expertise and client services responsibilities to multiplex assay design and development, NGS, cell culture, bio-banking and bioinformatics. McMahon earned his B.S.in Microbiology from University of Tennessee. Vincent has a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from the Honors College of Western Kentucky University.

As Administrative Assistant I, Regina Bolton is expanding her responsibilities in support of Insight Genetics' accounting, HR, IT and administrative systems. Prior to joining the company in 2015, Bolton was an associate with Thomas Nelson.
